Johann Sebastian Bach - Mass in B minor

Since its creation in 1993, the Baroque Academy has become an important step in the development of young performers at the outset of their career. The Academy is today one of Europe's leading training and professional integration projects. It's a unique initiative which offers a multidisciplinary approach to the art of baroque performance.
Reknown specialist of Bach's music, Sigiswald Kuijken will conduct the Academy for the first time.
He chose to work on one of the greatest masterpieces of the baroque repertoire : Johann Sebastian Bach's Mass in B Minor in a one voice per part version.
21 instrumentalists and 16 singers will be selected all over Europe to participate in this project.
The training period will take place in Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia (Italy) in September 2011 from the 15th to the 27th. And aeuropean tour will follow till October the 15th.
Open to musicians born after the 1st of January 1981.
- Singers : soprano, alto, tenor, bass-baryton (to sing both choirs and arias)
- Instrumentalists : violin, viola, violoncello da spalla, basse de violon, traverso, oboe, fagot, trumpet (without holes), horn (without holes), timpani, organ.
